Admission Process

Admission is open from Pre-School to Grade XII Admission to new students in various classes shall be given during the first week of Decemberand will be kept open until April except in case of admission of transfer from a central or recognizedEnglish Medium School having similar pattern of academic year and course as of thisschool. Such pupil shall be admitted at any time during the academic year depending upon theavailability of seats. In such cases, the gap between leaving the previous school and joiningthis school should not ordinarily be more than a month. Applications for admission are to be made in the prescribed form with 2 copies of the parents& childs Passport and Iqama, Transfer Certificate (original), 4 copies of the students passportsize photographs, copy of Health Certificate and Birth Certificate of the student. Registration form and prospectus can be obtained on all working days from the office onpayment of SR 150. Applicant is expected to fill the required information in the admission form and submit alongwith the required documents to the Administrative Office.

Entrance Test

The Admission Test will be for duration of approximately 40 minutes and the subjects for Admission Tests are as follows;

  • Class I to VIII – English, Math & Hindi
  • Class IX & X – English, Math & any one of the II Language (Hindi / Urdu/ Malayalam / Arabic)
  • Class XI & XII (Science Stream) – Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths & General Studies.
  • Class XI & XII (Commerce Stream) – Economics / Civics & General Studies.

The school will intimate the result to the parents on the same day. If the child/children qualify in the admission test, the parents along with the child/children should meet the Principal/ Vice Principal/ Headmaster for the allotment of Class & Section. After obtaining the Principal/ Vice Principal/ Headmaster’s signature of approval, the fees as prescribed in the prospectus may be deposited at the cash counter.

  2. What is school’s curriculum? 
    New Al Wurood International School (NAWIS) offers CBSE curriculum from Grade 1 to Grade XII. The curriculum at NAWIS is based upon strong academic roots. It emphasizes and relies upon what is best in traditional independent school education: scholarly excellence supported by a caring, pastoral and tutorial system, and a wide - ranging co- curricular programme. We are continually adapting and reacting to the changing demands of modern education: new subjects are added, new teaching techniques adopted, and there is an increasing awareness of the need to provide programmes of study that match individual needs and skills.
  3. Is multi language instruction offered?
    The medium of instruction is English. Urdu & Arabic are offered as Second Language and Arabic, Malayalam and Urdu are are offered as Third Language.
  4. What extracurricular activities are provided for the students?
    The school provides opportunity in a multitude of sports and recreational programmes. Training is provided in Football, Cricket, Badminton, Athletics etc. Physical training (PT) is carried out regularly on a weekly basis. Besides these, students will have a wide choice of activities according to their interests, such as Painting, Needle work, Knitting, Paper Art, Public speaking, Debate, Scouts and Guides and Art classes. The Students from I to XII are divided into four houses namely Sapphire, Topaz, Amber and Ruby. They represent these houses in the New Al Wurood Youth Festival (NWYF) where their talent has always been recognized, encouraged and nurtured.

    Digi Class – is an ICT-based solution adhering to CBSE-Syllabus and is aided with multimedia-based interactive content. It not only empowers teachers to transform traditional blackboard and chalk classrooms into interactive sessions but makes the classroom sessions more interactive, interesting, comprehensive and effective through audio-visual approach. Digi Class involves EDURITE and its flagship product DigitALly – a massive multimedia resource library for delivery of subjects in a collaborative way in the classroom. This tool is effectively being used by the teachers in the Grades KG-12 to enhance the teaching process with animations, videos and diagrams for the better retention of the tedious and challenging concepts.
  6. Is there a parents and teachers meeting?
    Parent-Teacher meetings are conducted regularly to discuss the academic performance of their wards. Constructive suggestions from parents are always welcome and they will be given due consideration. Suggestions and matters concerning the student’s studies and discipline may be send to the Principal in writing on which further discussions can be arranged, if found necessary.

    Yes, New Al Wurood International School (NAWIS) is approved by the ministry of education of Saudi Arabia.
  8. What kind of transportation is provided for students?
    The school provides transport facility to the students through its own buses for transporting the students for different localities to the school and vice-versa. The overall transport operations are insured and systematically monitored on a daily basis.
  9. Do you have Scouts and Guides programme in your school?
    Scouts and guides provides the impetus for students to be ever ready to face challenges in this competitive environment. The scouts and guide movement also has regular camps and outward bound programmes which facilitate team and collaborative learning and also prepares them for leading and organizing programmes. There have been camporees, jamborees and camps organized under the able guidance of Bharat Scouts and Guides, India in KSA, India and Japan. These camps enable a child to be prepared for life eventually. Cubs and Bulbuls (Grade 2 & 3) Cubs and Bulbuls programme is the progressive advancement in scouting designed to satisfy the needs of the students of age group between 5 – 10 years. The purpose of the programme is to develop the inherent potential of the children by providing them a number of structured activities in order to make them physically, mentally, socially, spiritually and emotionally strong and useful citizens and members of local, national and international communities. School level camps of the Cubs and Bulbuls will be conducted to achieve this goal in which opportunities are provided to the Cubs and bulbuls to enjoy the specially carved out activities for them. Bunnies (KG) It is the kiddie’s version of Scouts and Guides Programme. The Bunnies boys and girls would become Cubs and Bulbuls between 7 – 10 years of age and later Scouts and Guides respectively. The programme will help the children involve in progressive discovery, acceptance of responsibility, and training towards the development of character, acquisition of competence, self- reliance, dependability, and capacities to cooperate and to lead. This will be achieved through the activities included during the sessions. This will be include as a part of the regular school curriculum so as to impart the life skills to the child.
  10. How do I arrange a meeting with my kid’s class teacher?
    The contact number of the class teacher will be shared with the parents. Parents can interact with the class teacher through the mobile app. Face to face meeting can be arranged with prior appointment.
  11. Does the school provide in-service training for the teachers?
    All round development of Teachers is an ongoing process at New Al Wurood Intl School. The Teachers manage the classrooms effectively bringing an invigorating atmosphere to their classes. To improve their quality of teaching, teachers attend regular workshops and in service programmes. They are at liberty to avail information from a well equipped library, audio visual aids and other labs. They have access to internet and web browsing to help them know more about latest trends and developments in their respective fields. Regular fieldtrips are organized for the teachers to make teaching more effective, enjoyable and collaborative.
  12. Does Al Wurood have a Arabic and Qur’an learning program?
    We have become the first international school in the Kingdom to start Understand Quran: the Easy Way. It is the easiest and the most effective learning method developed by Understand Quran Academy, Hyderabad. The lessons and Arabic grammar are taught using the most modern methodology. Total Physical Interaction (TPI) and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) are also employed in the programme. The message of the Quran along with its Arabic grammar is taught in an innovative manner by designing power point slides and easy to use textbooks as, workbooks, posters, games and vocabulary cards. The classes are conducted up to grade VIII. Arabic Language and Islamic studies as per the curriculum prescribed by the MoE is also adopted in the school in all classes.

  1. How do I enroll my children?

    The Entrance Test will help us to understand the level of the child in core subjects. The test is for duration of approximately 40 minutes and the subjects for Admission Tests are as follows; Class I to VIII – English, Math & Hindi Class IX & X – English, Math & any one of the II Language (Hindi / Urdu/ Malayalam / Arabic) Class XI & XII (Science Stream) – Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths & General Studies. Class XI & XII (Commerce Stream) – Economics / Civics & General Studies. The school will give the feedback to the parents based on the test.
  3. What are the age requirements for KG admission?
    Age for admission is calculated from the beginning of the accadamic year ( Age as on April 1st) 2.6 - PRE KG 3.6 - LKG 4.6 – UKG 5.6 – Grade 1( If a valid Transfer certificate of UKG is available) else 5.9

    Yes, Parents can visit the campus from Saturday to Thursday. Male parents are allowed to visit the Boys’ school and female parents are allowed to visit the Girls’ campus.   14. Does the school conduct field trips and outbound trainings?
    Planned Visits are arranged to promote the broad and balanced curriculum offered, as these activities hone a child's personal and social skills apart from meeting educational objectives. During vacations, the school organizes outward bound tour, both national and international. Children are a part of exciting and challenging outdoor activities like traversing, rappelling and other adventurous sports and the kids have a lot to cherish in this outdoor learning.
